Consultations and Appointments

Consultation calls are intended to help us understand your business, your goals, and whether working together may be a good fit.

If you need to cancel or reschedule a call, 24 hours’ notice is appreciated whenever possible. There is no cancellation or rescheduling fee.

Services and Service Agreements

The scope, timeline, deliverables, fees, payment schedule, and responsibilities for a client engagement are outlined in a separate written service agreement, proposal, or statement of work.

If there is a conflict between these Terms & Conditions and a signed service agreement, the signed service agreement will control.

Many AJ’s Desk services are customized to the needs of each business. A website description or consultation does not create an obligation for AJ’s Desk to begin work until both parties have agreed in writing to the scope and terms of the engagement.

Payments, Cancellations, and Paused Work

Payment terms, late-payment terms, cancellation requirements, and any applicable refund terms will be outlined in your service agreement.

Once a project has begun, full refunds are generally not available. In some circumstances, a partial refund may be considered based on the work completed and the specific terms of the service agreement.

For monthly or ongoing services, cancellation terms are outlined in the applicable service agreement.

If a project is paused, AJ’s Desk will work with you to determine a reasonable path forward. Projects may not remain paused for more than three months without a new agreement, updated scope, or closing out the engagement.

Client Responsibilities

To provide effective support, clients are responsible for providing accurate, complete, and timely information, records, access, approvals, and feedback needed for the agreed-upon work.

Delays in receiving needed information or approvals may affect timelines, deliverables, and the ability to complete work as planned.

Professional Advice Disclaimer

AJ’s Desk provides bookkeeping, operational, organizational, and business visibility support. AJ’s Desk does not provide tax, legal, investment, insurance, or financial planning advice.

Clients should work directly with their CPA, tax professional, attorney, financial advisor, or other qualified professional for advice in those areas. Any business decisions made using information, reports, dashboards, or recommendations from AJ’s Desk remain the client’s responsibility.

Confidentiality and Business Information

AJ’s Desk respects the confidential nature of client business information and will use reasonable care to protect information shared in connection with our work.

Depending on the service, clients may share information through third-party tools such as a client relationship management system, QuickBooks, Dropbox, Google Drive, or other approved platforms. The specific tools, access, and handling of documents will be addressed in the applicable service agreement.

Clients are responsible for maintaining secure access to their own accounts and for providing access only when authorized to do so.

Intellectual Property

Website content, written materials, templates, processes, graphics, and other materials created by AJ’s Desk remain the property of AJ’s Desk unless otherwise stated in a written agreement.

Clients may use final deliverables created specifically for their business for their internal business purposes. They may not resell, distribute, reproduce, or share AJ’s Desk materials outside their organization without written permission.

No Guarantee of Results

AJ’s Desk is committed to providing thoughtful, practical support. However, business outcomes depend on many factors outside our control, including the accuracy and completeness of client information, timing, market conditions, client decisions, and implementation.

We do not guarantee specific financial results, increased revenue, cost savings, tax outcomes, or business performance.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AJ’s Desk will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of this website or services.

Any liability related to a client engagement will be limited as described in the applicable service agreement.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to These Terms

AJ’s Desk may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the website after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
